These sweaters are handmade by women in the low income, multi-ethnic neighborhoods of El Alto and La Paz in Bolivia. Knitting is one of the few ways the women have to earn an income. With every single garment, they share part of their history, their cultures and theirs lives.
The fibers are fine and glossy, producing a soft, luxurious fabric and the sweaters do not pull.Alpaca hair is not only water resistant, but also demonstrates thermostatic properties. This means that although its primary use is in cold climates, it can also be worn in warmer climates. Hand wash/dry flat or dry clean.
