The foundation of this dress is a deep gold dupioni silk. The skirt is sculpted in the antebellum style of dress and is composed of multiple layers of tulle. An ombre color effect is accomplished by combining ten different shades of tulle, varying from the lightest pale yellow, to the deepest mahogany gold, and combining them in various combination's to achieve the light to dark color range. The designer used eighty yards of tulle, and four of the ten colors were achieved using a hand dying color wash technique. The bodice of the gown is dupioni silk, embellished with six types of swarovski crystals, in a floral pattern, unified by metallic gold thread embroidery. Both the stand up collar and sleeves are made of gold silk organza. The entire gown is lined in shantung silk and hand finished.
